Ashley building

Welcome to Ashley Church
Ashley Road, St Albans, Herts, AL1 5DA

Ashley is an independent Christian church. Our foundation is in the evangelical tradition but the people in our community have always come from a mixed background of Christian traditions, which we value. Our goal is ultimately trying to help each other to obey the two great commandments of Jesus Christ: to love God and to love our neighbour. We have a lay leadership team, informal and interactive services and we value prayer, Bible study, service and worship. We believe in the supernatural works of God as well as God working through the mind, emotions and intellect. Our ethos is of inclusivity and acceptance and we encourage variety in our expression of spirituality. We meet on Sunday mornings in the Fleetville area of St Albans. You are very welcome to join us.

Affirmation of Faith

We believe
in the creator who conjured light from darkness
who drew land from endless oceans,
who seeded fruit and flower,
who laid forests, deserts, plains,
who sowed the sea with shoals,
who scattered birds across the sky,
who set land pelting with the chase of life,
who mapped and lit the constellations,
who made men and women to be like him,
who became like them,
who was punished for love and freedom,
who was nailed to a cross,
who made that cross a bridge from God to all,
who overpowered death,
who walked, talked, ate, sang, loved,
who rose in glory when his father called,
who calls us now and we respond.
Glory be to the Father in heaven,
to the Son who walked among us,
to the Spirit whose breath is life.
